Hi! Welcome to issue #7 of my newsletter - I'm Glad You Asked. Below you'll find a bunch of stuff you didn't ask for, but will hopefully enjoy.

It's been a little bit longer than I would have liked since my last issue. But I'm back with a ton of new stuff for ya!

We'll start with some WordPress news and stuff you should add to your calendar. I'll list out some of my favorite resources and reads from the past few weeks. Following that, the newest stuff I've been up to and we'll wrap up with a mindset challenge.

Let's get started!

🗣 Half a trillion in revenue? Really?

I'm not an economics person, so a lot of the stuff in this piece goes right over my head. Point being - the WordPress economy is a powerful thing. Check out for the full details.

🗣 Full Site Editor for Builders

Anne McCarthy (Automattic) hops on the Do The Woo podcast with BobWP to tell us all the juicy details about full site editing! A must-listen for anyone tracking the progress of the FSE and Gutenberg overall.

🗣 A "mature" WordPress app?

So the WordPress app on the Microsoft Store has an "M" rating since user interactions through blogging are not moderated or censored. A bit of a head-scratcher, but at least there is an app at all!

📆 WordFest Live

The last WordFest was excellent and this one is shaping up to be even better. I am most excited to hear from WordPress co-founder, Mike Little.

📆 WordCamp Santa Clarita

The Santa Clartia WordPress community is full of some amazing people, and this WordCamp is going to be one for the books!

📆 Fem Tech Conf

This event is always so powerful and empowering. This year I'm lucky enough to be one of the speakers! If you want to support women in tech, attend this event.

🔗 My Favorite Links

Here are some of my favorite links from the past few weeks. Some is WordPress related, some isn't. But hopefully there's something cool in here you can use!

👩🏾‍💻 Newest From Me

Things I've been enjoying:
📺 Columbo reruns!
🎶 The 1975: Notes on a Conditional Form
📖 Titanic Survivor by Violet Jessop

I don't have a lot to share professionally at the moment. I'm trying to work hard while planning a large move to Austin! This is something I've been hoping for and planning for years. And really that is taking up most of my brain space!

This weekend I did go fishing, so here is an unflattering photo of me holding one of the fish I caught. Don't worry - he went right back into the water after this! (I love fishing but I hate touching/holding the fish, hence my grimacey face.)

💌 A Challenge

So this is the part of the newsletter where I provide a mindset challenge for you to focus on until my next issue. This is something I am currently working on myself.

Dial in your spirituality.

I have never been a religious person. I was raised agnostic - to appreciate and respect and learn about all religions, but my parents never told me to believe anything in particular. This is part of who I am and I don't see it as a benefit or detriment. But I have always envied those who have faith.

My challenge for you this issue to focus on and feed your own spiritual connections. I believe that my "spirit" - the ineffable part of my being that makes me me - needs to be loved and cultivated. Some people see their spirit as the part of them that is connected to God. I see my spirit as the part of me that is connected to and reacts to the world around me.

Maybe for you this involves prayer, meditation, spending time in nature, spending time with loved ones, losing yourself in a hobby or craft... I've been using some practices that are related to Wicca and Buddhism to zero in on how I can be mindful and spiritually fulfilled. But remember that spiritually does not need to have anything at all to do with a religion.

So that's your challenge! I'm glad you asked!
xoxo Allie
